When you give to United Way of Oakville, you contribute to a network of 31 human and social service agencies supporting people right here in our own community.

Last year United Way of Oakville was able to invest $2.194 million in these agencies providing a vital range of 60 programs and services.

United we can make a difference

Thanks to your support, United Way of Oakville impacts the lives of more than 30,000 people each year. People like Sara.

Sara is four. Last fall her father lost his job after working 15 years for a local company. Her mom works full-time to support the family of four, but there just isn't enough money to cover basic living expenses.

Sara doesn't understand her parent's financial situation, but she does know that there is not as much food on her dinner plate and she is often still hungry when she does to bed.

Frustrated and distraught, Sara's mom turned to United Way of Oakville where she learned about Food for Life Canada, a relief organization that distributes surplus food from restaurants and food distributors. Now Sara's mom can pick up fresh food weekly.

Times are still tight in Sara's house, but her parents are better prepared to handle their financial situation knowing that no matter how challenging times may be, their children will have access to healthy meals.

Together, we can ensure that other Oakville families, just like Sara's have access to the basic necessities of life.
